  • Hi Dexter,

    Outstanding footage and comments buddy.

    Enjoyed your great video.

Thank you for your dedication and service my brother.

My father was a radioman, I was a signalman.

All the best to those that stand!

    Absolutely liked!

  • @TunesNorth Tom, Thank You so much for your kind words. Also, Thank You and Your Family for Your Service to Our Country.

I just visited your channel and enjoyed very much your Christmas Tribute to Our Troops and to All Children everywhere. Bravo Zulu, Shipmate.

  • Ahoy Dexter

    Hello

    Thanks for the video.

Seeing that destroyer haullen ass, fleeing those 13inch rounds. One direct hit on the DD would be enough to doom her to many more. Sure brings back those days on Sea-Dragon With All night un-reps Sleeping on station insted of the rack so you could gain another 5 min sleep

This exact thing occured to the DD 860 McCaffery.

    Those sampans were range markers.

The Shotgun DD and Heavy cruiser, a Tempting Huge Target

  • You're Welcome, Bruce, and Thank You for the comment. Good to hear from Sea Dragon Shipmates. Fair Winds and Following Seas.

    Dexter

  • Dex, You've really captured the Newport News in time of near war and war. All of us who served on her are indebted to you for and others for keeping the memories of this great ship alive. I know that I'll be sharing this with others. Thanks, Gary

  • You're Welcome Gary. And Thank you for your excellent comment. It took some tricky editing to tell both stories and stay under the Youtube 10min limit. My goal was to show how Thunder participated in both a Cold and Hot war. Hope I achieved this goal. Dex

  • I agree. All should see the movie; "13 Days".

  • I like Kennedy. He was a President's president, unlike the boot polishers currently serving on D.C.

  • President Kennedy was not a limp-wristed "peacenik" when it came to foreign policy.

  • I love the ship, Its heavily armed, Sir Dexter do you have 1/350 of these scale?

  • Wow! My Dad's old ship was involved in the the Cuban Missile Crisis. I would have never known that. He served in the 50's.
