Trees capture carbon, it's what they do
Carbon Dioxide is on the loose, but the TREE (Trees Reduce Environmental Emissions) task force is been out in our streets and countryside capturing this carbon. Woodland in the UK locks up a massive amount of co2 each year. But we need to lock up more.
Creating new woodland is a wonderful and effective way to reduce your carbon footprint as part of a low carbon lifestyle, whilst at the same time creating valuable woodland habitats.
The Woodland Trust wants to create more to help the UK environment adapt to the changing climate, offering people the chance to help us plant and care for new native woodland right here in the UK, locking up carbon and creating valuable green spaces for people and wildlife alike. That's why we've launched our woodland carbon campaign to 'Lock-up' carbon.
