La Habra Heights "Park Chat" Gone Wild! P&R 2-17-11 Unedited Version?

The scene turned ugly at the usually chatty Parks & Recreation Committee February monthly meeting when a resident tried to show a brief video during public comments.
The Brown Act, a California state law, allows citizens to speak for three minutes on matters concerning Committee business.
Resident Stephen Blagden explained that he thought there should be standards of behavior that apply to groups that use City facilities for free.
He started to play an excerpt of the La Habra Heights Improvement Association Board members that showed 'thugs' jumping and attacking resident George Edwards who was videotaping the Association's annual public meeting at the Park Building, as an example of unacceptable behavior by the Improvement Association.
Acting Chair Faith Grimm immediately interrupted, started to do a play by play of what she thought happened and challenged the relevance of the video.
Mr. Blagden continued to request that he be allowed to finish his comments, but continued to be interrupted by Grimm, and Committee member Carolyn DiMario, who also was seen in the attack video shouting, "You are not a member".
The City Staff person, incorrectly said that videos could not be shown from the podium, and objected to profanity in the video uttered by the first 'thug', John Pearce.
The Committee stopped Blagden by saying "your time is up", even though he was not allowed to finish his planned comments due to their interruptions.
