I think what we mean is, the people making the generalizations spread the image, not the people trying to fit within their means financially to have some fun, and to be honest it seems quite true - as those people making generalizations are the ones perpetuating an image as if it applied across the board when, as you, I, or any other thinking individual knows that is not the case. :)

yea no... its the video. the comment lets people know that this isnt the way all foam fighting looks. a funnoodle with teeth chunks.. o yea.. that makes us look good right? its nothing about the sport or any thing about foam fighting. this is a poorly set up video and you know it. its taking it from "look, were nerdy but we take time to make it look good" to "yea were nerdy and you should be afraid that our weapons are gonna snap and go straight to core!"

@travelsonic its not a "false generalization" or a stereotype if its a truth. When people make weapons that dont look like the weapon being portrayed then it looks bad. I cant find anything on FLAG larp but if its a full larp then A) PVC at that length is going to snap and flex like a donkey dick, B) the fun noodle --THAT HAS TEETH CHUNKS TAKEN OUT OF IT-- is going to break down way to fast, and C) the overall construction is horrendous. Make your shit look good and thats what people will see.
