This town was turned into a large studio backlot for the filming of the Tim Burton classic; "Beetlejuice." Located in Orange County, East Corinth is a mere shadow of its on-screen alter-ego. Today, the town is indifferent from a typical small New England town. The real "Beetlejuice" house was nothing more than a three-sided facade built on a hill, and "Maintland's Hardware" was ACTUALLY the town's general store (now vacant as of 3/13/2010). The red covered bridge was built for the movie overtop the existing wooden bridge, and the road it is located on does not actually lead to where the house was located. Short clips from the actual movie are used in this video, but were used under "fair use" copyright laws. If I am wrong in doing this, please let me know before sending lawyers after me; I'll be glad to remove them from this video.

  • I love that you did this! Where were you guys visiting from?! And, lol, no matter where you go in VT, if you ask anyone "is there anything to do?", you'll get the same response from everyone - "Nope. This is Vermont. There's nothing". Burlington is the only "fun" place. Although, the scenery everywhere is absolutely beautiful. Only thing going for our state.

I've lived in Vermont for almost 22 years - born/raised (unfortunately) and have seen this area so many times. Its really cool to actual

  • Just watched the film last evening and looked up where it was filmed and found your video. What a brilliant effort, thanks so much enjoyed your "direction".

  • Wow, really interesting. I was getting sweaty watching it because it has an eerie early Blair Witch vibe!

House wise they did the same thing in my hometown outside Melbourne for the Nic Cage film Knowing... They just built this big fake exterior manor on a vacant lot... Looked beautiful, wished they'd left it there.

Anyway thanks for this! Über intriguing. ÜBER.

  • hahahahahaha my back yard n favorite movie!

  • im a Beetlejuice maniac and I would like to visit East Corinth a classic 88 film

  • This is one car trip I would've liked to have been on! LOL! Fun video! I love this movie!

  • Very cool video! Thanks for sharing!!!

  • A friend of mine owns the store and the ford truck sitting beside it in your video lol, it's being jacked up and restored as a residence. I heard one of you make the comment that the town has gone down hill since '88... haha, movie magic is all that is, the town has not changed hardly at all. The barber shop sign is funny too, all that's behind that door is a set of stairs to the second story porch. I was only 8 yrs old, but I remember all the activity and temporary construction.

  • I can't believe you guys didn't get out of your car and film the front of the store and walk inside of it as well....this could've been much better.

  • is this in california
