Thanks for the superb video! My Ultralite does not works on Lion. I'm going to purchase an M-Audio profire 610 but I'm not sure. What is Your audio interface? What OS are you running?

@weaponx66 well an arrangement is whats on the screen, the "beat" is the actual music, because the music has drums in it and in hip hop the drum is what produces the rhythm of verse and hip hop music is based off a rhythmic drum cadence which rappers use to produce a chanting or poetry presented in 16 bar measure time frame, So your right a beat is based of a drum sound but in order to understand why in hip hop its called a beat. You need to undertand hip hop, which i clearly see your lacking.

What is the definition of a beat? Throughout all of my years of musical training from playing in concert and and marching band in grammar and high school, to college and my professional career I always thought that a beat is:

a. To strike so as to produce music or a signal: beat a drum.

b. Music to mark or count (time or rhythm), especially with the hands or with a baton.

If you are producer call it an arrangement not a beat unless it i just percussion.
