made for the Ballardian Festival of Home Movies at the CCCB in Barcelona. Recorded with a sony ericsson mobile phone, no post-production or processing.
Nothing in this video was really planned, apart from the fact that I knew we were going to drive next to a huge car park with hundreds of parked vehicles. The explanation for the loud music (and chatter): I was in the back seat and the two other people in the car didn't even notice that I was recording a video; I didn't tell them until I pressed stop. All this non-interventionism was intended: I wanted to obtain a raw/pure "Home Movie" with the minimum possible (creative, voluntary or not) interferences, to find beauty in a random piece of reality... That is in a sense what Ballard's literature does on a conceptual plane: an abstraction of everyday life. My only creative work in the shooting was pressing record and stop and pointing the camera at the parked cars :)
aproximate coordinates (enter them in Google Maps or Yahoo Maps and you will see a satellite image of the car park):

Should try harder...
