Magic voice . . . .

This recording was more successful in the UK than in the US. Adam Faith recorded a decent cover. Lou recorded three (?) singles for Bacharach/David before they gave up on him, a big, huge mistake, I think. He was as good as Dionne. Any versions of B/D tunes that have not been produced and arranged by the duo are worth as much as the million of versions of "Hey Jude". Yes, this recording was arranged and conducted by Burt Bacharach, and that is probably his piano on it.

@9thWardJukeBoxAnX Yes, I didn't know they had written that song. It makes sense, thanks.

@9thWardJukeBoxAnX Will do! He's a tremendous talent and he still sounds great.

@bmurraygroove Really? He never got the recognition he deserved. Don't anyone tell me D.W.'s version is better then this. Tell him I'm still a big fan of his all the way down here in the Who Dat Nation!

@9thWardJukeBoxAnX And I fully agree, Lou did it first right? It's a great song and deserved to be covered again. Although DW did a terrific version, I prefer Lou's too.

@bmurraygroove I know Lou preceded Warwick's version and I'm pretty sure at the time, there were no other versions. Would have been a nice one for Chuck Jacksom to try though since he did David and Bacharach's "Any Day Now" around the dame time this one came out.
