thank you mijonju for letting us into your (and ryultsuki san's) world! The auto half are cool as hell! But his canon 7's did it for me. Unbelievable! Being an owner of several leicas (M2,M6TTL,M7) I now lust after a canon 7!!! I'm also contemplating an M5. What's your take on either of these?

@splasher78 coolness, i lust for the m7, i am an owner of m5 and m2, but running on voigtlander lenses cause they are cheaper.. i wish i could get the 90mm f2 ;( dreaming about that lens. I love my black m5 alot, because it is out of the group, if you visit tokyocamerastyle youll see my m5 with the noktor f1.1 big lenses needs needs big cameras :) if canon 7 vs m5? emm. I can't decide, thats why i got both. ;( hole in my pocket.. happy holidays fellow camera lover ;)

2:50 carena was an in-house brand for mail-order companies. They existed because camera prices were fixed back in the day and you were not allowed to sell below the factory-set prices, even if you were a big mail-order company and could get huge bulk price advantages.

So, instead, mail-order companies licensed existing designs and had them built at often the same factories as the existing ones, mamiya, cosina, etc. Search for Carena, Sears, or German brands Revue and Porst.

@Mijonju Thanks for the fast reply! Yes I frequent TCS often... So i've seen your M5/Nokton setup. What a beautiful and unique combo! Along with your GR21. Awesomeness. BTW I found out about you through TCS. And I added you as a contact on Flickr I go by the name of: aciel78 It's Leica spelled backwards and my birth year :) I must admit I was put off by the M5 due to it's oddball design compared to the more traditional M design but now I am seriously considering one! LOL...

@Mijonju I'll let you know when they're out roaming around again, haha! You can feature my girlfriend's fun, cheap, and pretty effective $100 camera, the Pentax Optio H90! Adorable little thing...it's not film, but it is a great little digital that works well (and shoots HD vid!).
