you got a tax credit to build something that took 15 years to "start getting your money back out of it." Wow. Sounds awesome. We definetley need those tax credits back. How could we have ever gotten rid of them? And we get the ability to power 40 'average homes' out of every steam with 150 foot drop? Gee out of the 120 million houselholds in America, we could power like 100,000 with millions of investment that we wouldn't see a return on in 20 years? sounds like the solution to me!!

hey do you know gerard? he is a 9th grader
I notice that this was uploaded in 2008? So, your school must have some pretty cool administrators and teachers, as well as students like yourself, Emlyn, to actually undertake a hydroelectric project? I'm pretty impressed, for certain. Have they/you completed the project? In Kansas, we have mill levy rates on propertties, homes, and I assume businesses, in order to finance the specific school districts. Something like that could offset district taxes, by reducing electric payments.

Brian,
Thanks for the comment.
As far as I know the project has been stalled indefinitely. I am no longer in touch with the students involved but I know they were pretty committed. They may be graduating this year or next. There are some other local projects going through, finally, and I believe some of the legislation surrounding new pojects is starting to ease up as well.
