I have taken a year of professional Maya instruction. And it is REALLY, and I mean REALLY difficult. I ended up just giving up on it. I got into it because I love video games and the end product that it produces, but I hate the process that is required to make even decent creations.
Hope this helps anyone who is on the fence about it.

@dimanasa I, as the creator of this vid, have to agree ;)
But if you really want to try 3D, try Cinema4D first. It's the easiest to use and to start.
