Haunting Ground Speedrun Pt. 1

NB: Oh geez. YouTube kills the quality D: Sorry.

So this is a speedrun of Haunting Ground/Demento that I'm working on. It's not going to be in the ranks of the 'elite' rather it's me trying to break my own personal record (which is 1:26:35), you can make your own minds up about how good it is xP
A few notes about this run:
(1) it is NOT a thorough playthrough with everything explored, in fact many optional sections are skipped completely. If you want to see the full game with all its little secrets and such, louischou did a full run of it, so check that out.
(2) cutscenes are also skipped here, so check dragonazul85's channel if you want to see them.
(3) I don't have a flashy DVD recorder so this is filmed straight off my TV with a digital camera. That means the quality isn't going to be the same as if you were playing the game, but it's the best I can do and it seems okay, if a little quiet (until I remember to turn the volume up on my TV).
(4) I'll probably do a few things that most people would think of as waste of time during a speedrun, such as praising Hewie and not always kicking open doors. There are reasons for that; mainly, it's better to keep the dog sweet than neglect him, it's just easier that way, and I don't kick doors because they attract stalkers which we DON'T want.
(5) I'm playing on Normal because the stalkers are more persistent on Hard and this is going for optimum speed. Which is also why I'm getting the special items from the platekeys.

Couple of things; few bits at the start are muted for a second coz my sister played loud monkey noises to annoy me. O_o Also I looked at the damn painting of Lorenzo when trying to save, which was a pain.

@MrFendkg287316 You need to unlock the stuffed animal costume by completing the game on Hard mode and getting Ending C

I love this game because this game never loading. Yea, love Fiona too, she looks like Jill Valentine in RE 5. haha Great tutorial of speedrun!

It is normal mode, but I think the difference is that you can use the plate machines after having completed the game once already, then it appears on the next playthrough. I can't 100% remember because it's been a few years since I played HG x)

@EmilyBoast @EmilyBoast Thanks for the advice. I always found standing behind the door worked just as well as crouching as long as you stay still. The advantage of crouching though is that the camera follows the stalker so you can see where they are in the area.

I just used a digital camera to record my TV screen while I was playing. I don't have a DVD recorder or anything to hook up to my console so this is the only way I can do it.

Just a note, when you are typing on the plate key machine it is faster to press start and X instead of going to the arrow.

Ahh, I'm so jealous... I once tried hiding behind the door instead of using the bed for the first part of the game, but for some reason, the music never really went away. Well, he never "disappeared" as stalkers do when you successfully hide, so I had to use the bed anyway. XD
