  • did the man jump?

  • Animals are put out of their misery, but humans have to suffer for years the physical, familial, spiritually, and mental hell. There are people who have either withdrawn or resigned because of the stigma of suicide, after battling, pushing and trying for years , to still be in the same hell hole not being able be happy. People don't understand, because they haven't lost everything..yet. When your body is unhealthy and you are alone, that is torture, thus inhumane. Just to live for whom?

  • hare krishna

  • ben why didnt you just let him kill himself?

  • No he wasn't encouraging suicide... he's just making the point that we can't really help people until we know what the real problem is. This is the need for spiritual understanding. One should try and become qualified in a spiritual sense... then he can really help others

  • look outside himself, or even better look within himself. real happiness can only be extracted from within, and we all have access to it... hopefully this will be explained more with the next video =)

  • no certainly not! just the need for a more spiritual solution

  • Maybe I am misinterpreting what this man is saying, but it seems like he is saying that the right thing to do in the story he was telling was to let the man kill himself?

The Buddha said that it was impossible and vexing to attempt to discern the exact mechanations of karma. To me it seems exceedingly arrogant to decide that another being has nothing to live for, & then to encourage (or simply not DIScourage) him from committing suicide..

I'm open to the possibility that I missed the point tho

  • Maybe we need to stop thinking we can fix things because there is always going to be suffering, so we should just enjoy what there is, the little things.

  • Yes he has been pushed down hard. But I still feel he could have MADE his own meaning in life. Isn't that all we really do anyways? I think he could have gone out their and made FRIENDS who are wiling to be there, support group for empathy, volunteered to spend his last days helping others, signed up for cancer research. He think he needed to look outside himself.
