@WazooSurvivalGear You are very welcome. If you let the gel wax get into the cotton ball too much you will not have any dry cotton left. But as you said you can break it up to expose thin fibers so it does catch and yes the more gel the longer burn time. And there is nothing wrong in using a match or lighter to get it going.

Thanks so much for sharing! If you leave it in the wax longer to absorb more, you said it wont take a spark as well, but what if you rip the cottonball open to expose the inner dry cotton? Then you'd have more wax for a longer burn time, right?

@Gunslinger69usa You can put some in an empty pill bottle or wrap them in saran wrap, tin foil, got lots of choices.

@zane000000000 You must use this in difficult conditions to get a fire going to keep you warm or cooking with a pot. If you were to cook food directly wait until it is burnt away.

Great video - thanks for sharing. I had a Bushcraft day last spring with my grandkids and we made these and tried them out. They loved it. We had a ferro rod and steel for each of them to try to light the balls they had made. All were successful - they still talk about it and it's all thanks to you!
