Breathe Into Me- Tai Lung

I was kind of hesitant to attempt this one, because the movie (Kung Fu Panda) itself is so light-hearted and happy- save for the Shifu and Tai Lung scenes. But I like the way it turned out. Putting it together was surprisingly easy. For making AMVs with animation like avatar, the shots are much more visually vibrant and interesting, as the creators have more control- sharp, but with little emotional impact, therefore more about fitting with the rhythm rather than lyrics. With live action, it's the opposite. You have plenty of emotion, as the characters are represented by real people, and therefore more realistic emotions as opposed to listening to real people while watching a 2-D representation (and therefore the idea is often more to fit the lyrics to the clips, rather than the music itself). But the shots and scenes are often much more dull and less interesting to the eye. With 3-D animation, however, you get the best of both. The emotions- even if simulated- are much more real and impacting because so much more control over details is given when animation becomes 3-D. More details can be added. BUT, you also get the option for more vibrancy and visual interest which is offered in regular animation.

So, in short (if I haven't murdered you from boredom), I think I will be working much more with animated films such as Kung Fu Panda, because I LIKE IT. *creepy grin*

Also, in order to go about watching this- and I probably should have mentioned this first- you probably shouldn't think in terms of chronological order. The idea is that Tai Lung is accusing Shifu during the verses, and the choruses are centered around the fight scenes of the movie (except for the last chorus, which is all about their final confrontation). If you don't understand this, you may be tempted to change that five star to a four. :D

ALSO, I was very lazy about the last part of the movie, so don't be too surprised if you find a repeat of clips and/or poor matching of clips to music. I was running out of Shifu vs. Tai lung shots, okay?

Okay...WHOA.

I was beyond impressed with this. You managed to remix the fight scene just enough so that it didn't drag on or mismatch the music. This was incredible.

And I like the points you made about the different mediums of film. I find it easier to work with CG clips because they offer such a broad range of footage to work with.

I always feel really sad when I see Shifu and Tailung. Shifu suffered for years because of his unending love for his stepson, and Tai Lung turned evil because of a destiny he thought he was bound to follow. I can't imagine how both of them felt for the last twenty years.
