On March 5, 2011 at 2pm the Culinary Center in Lincoln City hosted the 2nd annual Ready...Set...Cook;a competitive cooking event and fund-raiser based on the 1990s BBC show with the same name.

Ready...Set...Cook! was a cooking game show that debuted on the Food Network in the US on October 2, 1995. The show's format was based upon the UK series Ready...Steady...Cook, and originally hosted by television personality Robin Young.

Chefs compete head to head. Each chef is given a set pantry, a mystery ingredient and a time limit. Here's the twist: members of the audience serve as sous chefs and judges.

Join us each year for a fun filled event starting with a silent auction. YOU have a chance to be part of the show; We will auction off chances for people in the audience to become sous chefs and will auction off spaces to judge the competition as well.

Proceeds of this event are dedicated to the North Lincoln Hospital Foundation's Samaritan Early Learning Center (SELC) fund. SELC programs are based on the principle that access to challenging, appropriate levels of education for all children is key to a sustainable, healthy society. Recognizing the crucial need for specialized services in a child's formative years, SELC provides specialized care and education for children six weeks to eight years of age. We ask that you support us in helping nurture today's children as they begin their journey of becoming the future leaders of our community. Samaritan Early Learning Center currently provides day care for 53 children ages 6 weeks to 8 years and is the only state registered child care center in Lincoln City. With plans to expand in the near future the center will eventual accommodate 100 children.
