The landmark rock-opera by The Who provides the soundtrack for Ken Russell's phantasmagorical screen incarnation; the story of a deaf, dumb, and blind boy and his search for salvation.
Starring Oscar nominated Ann-Margret, Roger Daltrey in the title role, Oliver Reed, Tina Turner, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Keith Moon, and Jack Nicholson.
The music for this tribute is "Sparks" by The Who from the original film soundtrack.

  • 1:05 looking for the song that scene

  • @thelorinator 1:05 splits - first 1/2 (preacher) is "Sally Simpson," then the Hell's Angels are used in "Sensation."

  • This is so awesome I wish I could play it on my big HDTV in high quality instead of watching it on youtube.

  • @Hollywoodsteve Thanks very much for your compliment!

  • Beautiful job! Brilliant!

  • Ken Russell, such a brilliant visionary. It's a shame his work was often so underrated and so misunderstood.

  • lol ;)

  • The world has lost a great artist in Ken Russell, perhaps the most visually stylish and politically incendiary artist of the last quarter century or so. Many young people only know him from Big Brother, but he was (and, I suspect, will remain) the reining king of agi-pop cinema, one the crown jewels in British cinema (Jarman, Schlesinger, Richardson, a few others.) But no one compares to Ken when it comes to taking on the church, the state, the sensual nature of man. YOU ARE MISSED TERRIBLY!

  • Only one man could have made this movie....in later life ignored, now gone....says more than other tributes, as its visual.

  • RIP Ken Russell ... 27/11/2011

  • I just wanna see That movie!!

  • You never cease pleasently suprising me Rick! I was wondering which video I wanted to start this play list with, because you have truly made so many that I love... Extreme Movies, there is the Life Lessons, THE SKETCHES OF FRANK GEHRY which a group of soulless aholes have blocked... but Tommy seems to fit perfectly. Thank You for everything that you have created, it truly does make the world a better place! Oh, and the King and I, granted not much work, but you shared it, lol! Thanks again Rick!
