@blackeyedjim That's nothing new...EVERYONE cheers for the Leafs to finish last EVERY year, because everyone loves rubbing salt in the wound on Leaf fans, people just get a rise out of watching Leaf fans suffer every year...

You know, you should sit with my father and tell tales of woe and years gone by over a few beers. All you Maple Leafs fans are the same: "This is our year!" Of course, you say next year, but the Leafs have been saying that since 1968. There isn't one shred of evidence which says they will change that. How hard do you think Boston was cheering for the Leafs to finish dead last this past season? They got Seguin because Kessel cost too much.

Leafs deserved the cup in 93. They would have at the very least made for an exciting final. *sigh*

Gary Bettman had NOTHING to do with the outcome, & I'm a Leafs fan. They still had a chance to win it in Game 7...but it wasn't meant to be. If you do want to rail on Fraser for missing the obvious high stick by Gretzky on Gilmour, then go right ahead & be my guest. At least Fraser owned up to hi mistake years later, but by then, it was MUCH too late.:-(
