3d flight over the misty rain forest was created in 3dsmax and my 2d trees collection which you can download on my website http://www.michalkotek.com/download.html
Rain forrest contains 100 000 trees. I used particle flow to place the trees on the scenery.

but how did you made the fog work so good with transparent maps?

i always ends up getting strange artifacts around where its transparent

when fog is added
