Eurovision 1976 - Netherlands

Sandra Reemer performing "The Party's Over", the Dutch entry at the 1976 Eurovision Song Contest.

Functioning as that year's contest hosts, the Dutch sent this reminiscent-of-Gypsy-music song, which was professionally sung by Sandra, herself an ESC veteran - since she had already appeared in the contest in 1972 (as one half of the duo Sandra and Andres), and would also go on to represent the Netherlands in 1979 (under the name Xandra) and serve as a backing vocalist in their 1983 entry.

One of my favs of 76 & a song I still really like to this day & it doesnt matter whether it sounds anything like another song. Do remind 'Kilt' from Alba of his linguistic inadequacies - I mean could he carry on even a cursory conversation with you in icelandic. I think not. QED!

How I have not commented on this one?! X-D Love the melody and lyrics. At least if they're not Dutch, I can understand them. LOL! Honestly, all of Sandra's 3 entries are so amazing it's hard to compare. :-)
