@chubmonster23 Glad to help! I think people either like or hate the Fox body...I myself like it! The Florida Highway Patrol used Mustang coupes of this era as patrol cars, and gave them a stealthy image, even though they were well marked as patrol cars! Thanks! :) Jack

@raconter1 thanks! That makes me feel better 2 of my friends dislike the fox body style and would rater have a Honda odyssey. But I don't listen to them a mustang is a mustang.

@chubmonster23 I'm glad to hear you're starting restoration! I recommend going to local car shows and getting the local conversation about who's good at various things that might need doing! Nothing like a good father-son project for memories you'll have for a lifetime! Thanks! :) Jack

My dad had one of these in high school and still does. It's been sitting in a garage for 20 years tough, and now me and him are restoring it. Yes, same exact color on the exterior, and interior. It doesn't have the cobra sign on the hood, no loafers, and is not Manuel. It is a 5.0 and has a v8.
VERY NICE JACK..I LVE THE COBRA IN THE HOOD IN THIS CARS,BUT THR RIMS ARE NOT ORIGINAL..CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN JACK.

Jack, looks to me like the 79 Mustangs followed the lines of the Fairmont Futura models.. actually my first car was a 1978 Mustang II with the 2.3 liter 4 cylinder and the automatic transmission.. I'd have to prefer the Mustang II over this style but a lot of people dislike the little II's.. Lee Iacocca called it his "shining new pony" I do believe back in 1974!

@SippRider89 Hey, Zack! That's so true...this 79 was the Fox body which it shared with Fairmont and Futura models, so it came by the similarity honestly. Mustang II is a strange story...I looked at a new one when they came out in 74, but they struck me as expensive...wound up with a Camaro instead. Mustang II sold a lot because gas was in short supply, and they were quite sporty. Unfortunately, there seems to be almost no interest in restoring them. Thanks! :) Jack
