I really don't see how truth can be "mean spirited." I worry about youth who are wasting their lives, who think getting promoted to pasta production supervisor at the "value added" North Dakota noodle factory means having a good job because they just don't know any better, they have nothing for comparison. I don't like to see potentially productive people waste their lives in a rural ghetto. If I didn't like Nodaks, I wouldn't be telling them to move to the Twin Cities and enjoy a better life.
