Haven't seen the movie. Wondering if the main guy is good or bad, and why it is called the wrath of god. I am curious because I wander if this really happen since Aguirre is my last name.

It's inspired by historical events, but it is fictional. Aguirre calls himself "The Wrath of God" when he loses his sanity in the jungle, believing himself to be some sort of destroying angel.

it was orginally recorded in English but that version has never been released because the sound qualifty was too poor.

i hear about the man worked on voices recorded run away after fighting with Werner (or Kinski?) and he took with him the material... so they had made voices on studio... Kinski asked too much for re acting his voice so Werner used another actor for Aguirre's voice. Do not know if original was german or not... anyway, that's not Kinski voice, even in the original version, if this story is true
