Not a tpain fan ,,, he's doing his thang,, but autotune is pretty much helping his struggling voice.

Yeah!!! i notice that too. I know he was using a remot minimoog for the carrier,, the sound but yeah sometimes that moog goes outta tune,,,so thus giving that drift voice sound. Hey im pretty sure that the crowd didn't notice because herb is on stage.

Tpain uses autotune voice correction or harmonizer,,, herb uses the senheiser vsm201 vocoder,, the ferarri of all vocoders. Yeah I agree that the sunlight version is better than kimos version,, she got skills but sunlight version is the one I heard first in 1980.

I like this one better, although the version w/ Kimiko makes me want to grab a woman and dance the night away...this one makes me feel like herbie got down with T-Pain in an auto tune faceoff

I think that the versions by herbie and kimiko are just off the chain. Kimiko just made it softer than herbie. I love them both.

What is strange is that I went from this to the band Japan back in 1979 living in England. But I see the connection in the funky bass lines of this to Mick Karn's fab fretless playing.
