4/23/08 Palo Pinto County, Texas Storm Chase

This tornado warned supercell was west of Lipan, TX in southeast Palo Pinto county at the time this was filmed.

It produced at least one rain-wrapped tornado that passed very close to us while we were getting hammered by golf ball hail and extremely high inflow winds!!

I used to live in Corpus Christi and Plano. I remember Texas having the best storms I'd ever seen. I miss it sometimes.

That is one of the NASTiest skies I've ever seen - if I see that overhead - I'm moving to somewhere that has basements, better yet, saferoom IN a basement! Holysmokes. INtense.

Don't have to chase - storms find ... me. =]

How much damage to your vehicle? Each thud makes me see more dollar signs for repairs LOL

Actually, we somehow got out of it without any damage at all... I guess because the hailstones were coming in sideways lol.

That storm was definitely a dangerous one. As soon as we realized it was gonna put down a tornado we had to blast north to I-20 to get out of the way. Unfortunately, that put us right in the middle of all the hail!

This was a wicked storm! I am a storm spotter and it freaked me out. I was about 2 miles south of this last night when it hit, but I headed futher south to Morgan Mill. Glad to hear you made it out ok.

i miis texas, man theres some pretty good storms down there, i lived in springtown, just to the county east of pala pinto.
