I don't believe my grandma would ever use a smartphone, so don't it wouldn't work for my grandma.
That said, it is very simple and useful I'm sure.
I think transcribing to text is something which should be added eventually (in the background, even if it takes 15 minutes to process), because text is easily searched and reread quickly which makes it much more useful if you are searching for something at a later time.
Which I would think is a must-have if you need it for business and so on.

Voxer is a good idea but can't see it being used much except for maybe high school kids and even with that once novelty wears off....it will be deleted.
