First bus York insanely close pass 1700 16 Jun 2011 YJ08 XYP 69375

Just before the bus overtook me, I could see that there was oncoming traffic, so it was a real shock when it did pass - way too close. With oncoming traffic, there was not room to pass safely.

As the front of th bus passed, I could have touched it. Then it cut rapidly in towards to kerb, forcing me to do the same or be sideswiped. Look at the back of the bus just after it's cleared me and see how it completely fills the traffic lane: no room for a bike too!

The crazy thing is that within 20 seconds, the bus is in a queue at the traffic lights! This insanely dangerous manouvre saved the bus driver precisely no time at all. His employers, and the police, will be hearing from me.
