Unidentified Science??

I was cycling home from a friends party late Friday/ early Saturday morning..about 4am, when I saw a bright light in the sky.

It was stationary, just shining like a star, a huge star!! 10 times bigger maybe.

When I got home my flatmate and his friend were up and had noticed it too. We couldn't figure it out. Our assumptions were it might be a planet, but I have checked press etc, and found nothing. Usually an article will say something about an unusual occurrence, for example we had the eclipse..

I got my film camera out and hit the record, zooming in and trying to get an idea of the shape etc.

The footage is attached. Let me know what you think.

Could it be a planet??

In the footage you will also notice a second light to the left of the screen. This was also seen moving, from left to right.

You will also see a multicoloured shape which was independent from the other 2 lights. This was flashing.

Hmm..could I have seen something from another world!?!?

Note: 2 of the 3 objects you will see were stationary, my had was unfortunately moving so the lights appear to be moving. The light that did move was the one where you will see 2 lights on the screen.

Hope all this makes sense!!

The bigger shape is most likely Mars, however the smaller shapes remain a mystery..although I say Mars..I only rely on a forecast..hmm

Good Catch! I believe it is a UFO pretending to be a star/planet.

If you look up in the eastern sky about 11 PM Central time you will see it again.

Hi I tried and failed miserably to post a video response,takes ages to download so...

thanks for sharing your mystery footage. Incredibly I filmed something very similar oct30/31/1 nov 2007.

I'd love to know what it is we filmed eh?

BTW I experimented with windows movie maker and came up with the rather bizarre and pretentious presentation.

I'll keep it simple next time eh? :))

The big blue sphere has figures inside, upper right and at the end pause and you can see them. The pulsing object is not natural I don't think. Just my opinion.

Yes,early morning in the East is indeed Venus. The changing of the color you see has to do with what we call "seeing"which has to do with atmospheric movement,basically what gives stars their twinkle. A good free program for identifying objects in the sky is Stellarium. You can set it up to you exact town to see whats in the sky in real time.
