The Boy - Brian Bromberg

This is one of my favorite pieces from my third book of "Thought Crimes for Solo Cello." It took me quite awhile to work this one up, and after I let it rest for a bit I'll probably revisit it and record it again. The piece is about one of my cats who I call "The Boy." His proper name is Pluto. The opening shot of him shows him at his most wizened. We have been great mates for about 11 years. One might say he is in his twilight years now.
