WSU Criminal Justice Department presents Criminologist Jack Levin

Jack Levin is the Irving and Betty Brudnick Professor of Sociology and Criminology at Northeastern University.

He spoke with criminologist and co-author James Fox of his most recent book, "Extreme Killing: Understanding Serial and Mass Murder" at the WSU North/South Auditorium on 26 April 2008.

Professor Levin has great insight into the minds and actions of killers and those who commit violent acts. This is a gift and not something that can be earned in college. Professor Levin's insight and teachings are well worth following. I wish he could teach my criminal justiceclasses. BabyPinkAngel15, I agree with you.

There are different contributing factors in what makes a (specifically) serial killer. It's where fear and ego meet testosterone. Men manifest their fears and ego more aggresively than women do. It's not to say that women are better, they just don't manifest their fears and ego in a manner we agree is disruptive and uncivil. Women tend to manipulate their fears whereas men tend to try and destroy what they fear. This is obviously over generalizing, but the fear in question is that of control.
