CoMC- Memories - (Edmond ♥ Mercedes)- (The Count of Monte Cristo)

PLEASE READ: (lyrics below) - won an honorable mention in EpicStyleVidder's latest contest. :) I thought it time I made another Count of Monte Cristo vid & to one of my fave songs by one of my fave bands. :) story for vid: When singing starts, it goes back to tell the story of what happened- leading to where it left off at intro- night of the ball. Closely follows CoMC story- Mercedes is sure that the mysterious new Count is her long-lost love, Edmond, long believed dead. In his presence she has memories which grow stronger the more she is with him, though he tells her he is not Edmond. He does something to give himself away, she confronts him, he again denies it. That night she cannot sleep, her memories of their life together 16 years ago so strong (symbolism shows them no longer faded but in regular color). She goes to him again, the memories of the long ago promise of the string she tied around her finger, to promise herself always to him, leading her to show him that she has never taken it off. Stunned, he can no longer pretend he is someone else- they make love, her dreams both of the past and present. She wakes up, finding Edmond gone - the memories of what happened- along with the realization that she was tricked into believing he was dead- compelling him to face off with his old enemy and almost losing his love, Mercedes in the process.

Note to contest judges: I wasn't sure if this is "separated by war" or "estranged couples"- this is during the time of Napoleon, and Edmond was wrongfully taken away as a spy (betrayed by his friend) and imprisoned - shown here - but I'm not sure if war was still going on when this happened - it was a matter of politics why they were separated (so I guess I'll put this under "separated by war")- But he estranged himself from her on his return 16 years later by distancing himself in pretending to be someone else and not Edmond. (She began to see through his masquerade and confronted him twice, and the last time he broke down and told her when he saw she really did love him). So, It's one of those 2 categories and if you think "estranged couples" fits better, please place it there instead.

I love this video so much! WT is my fav band too and the 13th of December I'm going to their concert*)) I've just finnished reading the Count of Monte Cristo and I'm so sorry as writers spoiled the story at this film. But in any wayt it looks pretty and breathtaking.
