People, places and faces between Quang Tri Province through Viet Nam, crossing Viet Nam and Laos along Highway 9 and crossing the Mekong at Savannakhet Laos to Mukdahan Thailand.

Thanks to my two traveling companions Paul and Glynn for sharing this adventure and for sharing their images captured during the trip

  • thanks for showing whats the north looked like. I've never visit this part of vn in my life, after this i changed my mind and want to visit this place . Its just gorgeous and beautiful that nature had given

  • @gangvn123 It's worth a visit. You will see many Van Kieu people and the hills are very green, many shades of green. I hope to explore more and spend more time there in the future. Thanks for your comment and for watching.

  • Too much communist propaganda seen. This is why I left Vietnam for GOOD and never want to go back to that hell place.

  • @TheVchunter No bombs, no guns, no soldiers, no barbed wire, no foreigners to take orders from = "communist propaganda" Some people cannot deal with reality.

  • great video. this video remind me of my trip back in 2005. at that time there were no bridge between thailland and laos. the route n°9 was bumpy. it cross the famous ho chi minh trail and the famous city of khe sanh where a battle took place during the vietnam ware.

    thank you

  • @asieaparis Interesting thanks. I first traveled Hwy 9 in February of 1999 from Savannakhet to Ban Dong. Back then it was an all day trip and as you write, a rough road. Walked a few km on a leg of the HCM Trail. According to the locals a large battle was fought near there during Operation Lam Son 719 in the early 70's.

You might want to check out our video traveling the opposite direction with some clips from around Lao Bao, Khe Sanh, Con Thien and Dong Ha. It was uploaded on 19 September.

  • loved the visual and music and 1968 road clip comparison! fantastic, thank you :)

  • Will be there in Feb. Thanks for the look ahead. You have a great eye.

  • thanks brother reall reall great

  • @phrakanong Ouch! That sounds a loooong trip to be cramped in like that with boxes of canned fish. Must've been cheaper shipping that way than by truck. Excellent views in the video. Looks a lot like many of the rural areas in Thailand. Quite a change in the road over the decades.
