This exercise targets the hamstrings, without stressing the lower back. The band used is just an ordinary blue with black stripes knee wrap. This exercise is no substitute for straight leg deadlifts or good mornings, but is is a good supplementary exercise for the hamstring. It is far better than any leg-curl machine.

If you do not have a band to assist pulling yourself back up, then you could use a quick pushup to gain momentum. At all times should you focus on using the hamstrings, you should not bend too much at the hip. Ideally keep a straight line from the knees and up.

This exercise is harder than it looks. If you do not have anything you can attach your feet to, then you could have a partner hoding your heels. Make sure you have some padding beneath your knees.
