  • Larry, are there any lipstick pickups planned? Im a big srv/mayer tone fan, and Im trying to find some good lipsticks to install on one of my strats..

    greets from Belgrade

  • @OMERTA011

Sorry, but we don't have lipstick replacements planned. We really don't get a lot of requests for them. Neither SRV or John Mayer are really known for their use of this type of pickups. They are both more strongly associated with Strat pickups.

  • Are all the preloaded pickguards solder less with the terminal? The ones on musicansfriend seem to be lacking the 3 port terminal

  • @JacqueShredo Hi, All the DiMarzio pre-wire pickguards are solderless. Musicians Friend only orders the new solderless system.

I check their website and you are correct, they must have old photos.

    Hope that helps,

    Larry DiMarzio

  • I still didnt get it. So in this case, he had 3 black wires and 1 white.

White goes in to + . Does it matter which black wires get tied down together in 1 piece? Or I can just take any of the black wires, connect 2 of them in 1 and the rest is like in original?

  • @Eldererr Hi, The black wires are grounded. This means that they are all connected together.

    Hope that helps,

    Larry DiMarzio

  • @LarryDiMarzio thanks for the fast response.. well.. you are right, but I didnt see SRV playing "tin pan alley" without them.. :) its a shame.. there's not many good lipsticks out there no more..

anyway keep up the good work! I love your pups..

    greets from Serbia

Thanks Mr.D for such a fast response

I was thinking about getting the fast track one. I've always loved the sound of the pro track in the neck of a strat.

  • id also like to make a suggestion if this is going to happen in the future. the single coils be the HS4 at the neck, HS3 in the middle, and a D-sonic, or a Super 3

  • hey larry may we expect to see one of thse pickguard prewired setups with an HSS setup for those one want to change out all the pickups on an strat with the 2 single coils and bridge humbucker in the near future? id love to someday do that with my HSS strat. the stock pickups fender makes are ok but i have a 7 string guitar with your D-sonic at the bridge and it doesnt sound like any other guitar i own in a very good way. ive always loved the character your pickups give to a guitar...thanks!
