SPC Andre Shepherd Press Conference Statement April 7, 2011 Frankfurt Germany

SPC Andre Shepherd refuses to participate in an illegal and inhumane war and has petitioned the german government to grant him political asylum. The German Government, by their own statutes, is required to grant that request which is based on the overwhelming and irrefutable evidence presented in the application filed by SPC Andre Shepherd. In a Recent ruling the german "Federal Office of Immigration and Refugees" denied the appllication while ignoring, at the same time, all of the evidence presented and disregarding international law. The "Federal Office of Immigration and Refugees" has washed its hands of the entire matter, ala Pontius Pilate, thus forcing that the case to be thrown into another arena. That ruling is now being appealed. This is just one phase in a battle that will only intensify along the way. SPC Andre Shepherd is confident as to the outcome. Victory will be measured in many ways.

Andre Shepherd is simply a deserter and should be prosecuted. It is not up to him to decide the legality of the entire war. If he was ordered to perform an unlawful command by a senior officer it would be incumbent upon him to not comply. This is totally different than not simply agreeing with the war. Again, Shepherd is in violation and should be handed over to the MPs for the consequences. The question is now how much freedom of speech will you exercise? Will you delete my comment?
