Tracy Arm Fjord - Golden Princess - May 12, 2009

I cruised to Alaska with my son Casey. May 9th to May 16th, 2009. This is video from our cruise as we traveled up Tracy Arm Fjord. (Princess shot this as we cruised)
The weather was absolutely amazing and we got all the way back to the Twin Glaciers. This is as far as a ship can go and most cruise ships rarely get all the way in. (26 miles of winding S turns through 3000 foot mountains)
Check out the reflections of the mountains about half way through the video. The water was just like a mirror. Watch for the smaller cruising ship that passes us...it almost looks like a toy boat.
The Star Princess went in first and we waited until she came back out. as there is not enough room for two ships at once to navigate through the narrow channel.
She is the sister ship of the Golden (same size and layout) and as she passed us, we could get a scope of the size of the mountains that were surrounding us.
This was an unforgettable experience and I was glad that they filmed it professionally.

@PhotogCowboi30 OMG, Thank you Tony. This was the first time I filmed that Glacier. Do you remember seeing a REALLY tall videographer? Red coat? That was cruise 5914 I believe. Should be a two disc DVD set. Thanks for reminding me about one of my favorite segments to do on the DVD.

when i went we couldnt go to tracy arm
there were seals giving birth so we couldnt get through

I just came back from the alaska cruise and we had pretty good weather, but we were not able to go into tracy arm because there was to much fog :( so i am grateful for your video :) thanks!

Yes it was. The whole cruise was fantastic. I have never seen calmer waters to cruise in. I thought Tracy Arm was really a highlight that we wont soon forget.
