for a week or so then the redness goes away but it'll come back again whether it's days, weeks, or months....this has been going on for a few years...do you think this can be pterygium??????

Hi NaturallyMe91, no, pterygium is part of grown skin (like red rivers around the white eye). No idea what caused this. Doc think it grown intenting to protect the eye from the bright sun or strong wind. Pterygium does not have bump at all. Hope doc will help you out. Jack
