In this video, we'll be talking about one of the benefits of BigCommerce. Strong SEO Coding.

For those who don't know what SEO is, SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, which, simply put, if your SEO is great, your web page will be shown as one of the top results when a potential customer types in a keyword in Google or any other search engine.

BigCommerce advertises that their SEO is based on the work of SEO expert Aaron Wall, who's not only a guru, but a nice guy at that. I've been following Aaron's work for a while, and he definitely knows his stuff.

There are hundreds, if not thousands of ways to increase your SEO, but simple yet very effective methods such as Page titles and meta descriptions can be easily changed, helping you get the most out of your ecommerce store running on BigCommerce.

Another benefit is how simple it is to change the image descriptions which also help your e-commerce store rank high in the image search in the major search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing. I'll be showing you a screen cast of how these are done in another video.

301 redirects are something that's slightly more complicated, but the simple explanation is that 301 redirects tell the search engine that the web page the customer is trying to access is no longer available, or has changed. Instead, it will 'redirect' the customer to the correct web-page, making for a less confusing website and making it easier on the search engines.

There are a lot more SEO boosting features built into Big Commerce, but in this video, I'll be keeping it simple. Now onto how everything looks like on the Big Commerce Admin page.
