My father (eventually Group Cpt Freddie Westcott) was a pilot who was in Stalag 1 Barth...he also escaped. Does anyone know him/of him?

the worst escape was the the british solidier who could speak german got to austria got to the US embassy and they wouldn't let him in!! he had to give up in the end.

Yes, that was Peter Allan. Peter escaped hidden in a mattress cover. He is one of the speakers in my 'Colditz Stories' video (here on Youtube).
