I love this song so much but it's horrible to sub. XD

Even as I watched this before uploading I felt like "Hrm, I could probably tweak this and make it flow a little better" or "Well, maybe I could word it like this to keep a bit more of the meaning" but I feel like with this kind of poetic song, you'd be there all day if you tried to do that.

That said, bar having to split some lines in odd places because of the really long, flowing lines, I'm actually really quite happy with how this came out translation-wise. I actually TL'd this ages ago but redid it today as I subbed this, only referring to the old one when I was severely lacking inspiration. It was a little more literal but I think this captures the spirit a bit more.

Anyway, enjoy! Hopefully this'll convert Paru into liking this song. :D

@TheParuProject @MagentaG Also, the friend of mine who got me into Idolm@ster, and I'm working on doing this subbing stuff with, is a massive DS and Ryou fan, so that was kind of my entry point. I've kind of grown into an Ellie and Ritsuko fan myself but DS is kind of special to me still.

@TheParuProject Honestly? It's the smallest set of CDs to work on, and it's quite old so I don't feel I'm going to impact sales by posting to YT. Originally I was going to jump straight in and do Master Artist, but this seemed a smaller little project (and with how lazy I've been with it, starting off with something gigantic would probably not have been a great idea.)

That Dream Symphony only has about 10-15 songs and most of them are absolutely amazing is an added plus.

That sounds like quite a feat, considering the sheer length of the song. xD Out of curiosity, you seem to really like the DS idols a lot. I always figured I was the only one. :P Why are you into them so much? Not that they're not great, I feel they're really under-appreciated. Just wondering why. <3

Part of what inspired me to start doing this was I felt a lot of song translations being done were like that, and it annoys me. I think with songs a lot of translators forget that you can still tell a narrative with the lyrics, and they kind of lose their sense of context and progression. I don't claim to be an amazing translator, but I do try and pay attention to that kind of stuff a bit more than most, I think.

Agh, didn't even noticed you subbed this til now. xD And yeah, I've been getting into the song, I've been listening to it more. Your translation of it is better than what I've seen before, it really seems like it tells a story instead of being one-shot lines that don't really flow. It's really good. ^^ You've convinced me. :D
