This song is the original in the first released VHS in the 80s. I don't know the name of the song, but I am positive this is the original song in the theatrical film in '84

This is not the original version in the movie. The original is the Divinyls. The DVD with the original soundtrack is the "High School Reunion Collection" (released in 2003). The other two DVD versions "Flashback Edition" (released in 2008) and the original release (released in 1998) have several songs missing due to licensing rights. The version you post here sounds good. I would like to know who's singing. I doubt it's Plant, but sounds like it.

I have downloaded both Ring Me Up and Take a Chance by the Divinyls and neither are the song on this clip... There is mention on a forum that this song could possibly be done by Robert Plant but I don't think so. The search continues.
