I got to know this lovely song from Lebanese, Egyptian, Palestinian, and Yemenite students while I was in medical school in my native Hungary in the 1970s. We all enjoyed it and seemingly no one had an issue with claiming ownership. We all understood that it belongs to the WORLD CULTURE, with Middle Eastern/Arabic heritage. Sadly, some people attack each other and use foul language on these pages... please try to be civil and enjoy the song instead of fighting!

I remember hearing this when I was serving with the RAF in Cyprus in the 60's! We all loved it then and the locals could never understand why! Neither did we, but we loved it anyway.

el francés es el idioma del amor, el alemán, según rammstein "el idioma de la rudeza" pero el árabe es el idioma de los graandes, el idioma de la superioridad, "i'm not only perfect, i'm lebanese too" امير فرح
