  • James 200 ft was a typo it is 100 ft. that G25 is just an old airport light beacon. I bought a whole bunch of them from the scrap yard. They are strong as hell. my big tower is scrap steel tubing used for supporting tents on top of tree planting pallets. I just bolted a bunch of them together and presto. I got about six Guy wires holding it up. Last years ice storm left an inch of ice on all towers and steel hydro towers were falling like dominos. mine survived. so i trust it now.

  • I'm not sure , but another possibility maybe a bad connection at the rotation rings. I think I'll let run for a while (weeks) and see if it clears up or burns up. Too cold and windy to climb up there now. This sure put the breaks on my plans to buy two more. I guess worse things could happen.

  • Something must be wrong with your testing. Mine is performinng just fine. You have to mesure not that the phase but at the dc side.

  • Before you condemn the turbine check all of the connections in that phase, especially at the yolk. A loose connection or loss of continuity in the wire from a partial fracture would give you the same results. What kind of tower do you have? Is it really 200 ft? What kind of weight/ surface area is the tower rated for. Is it guyed? and is that a Rohnn G25 segment on top holding the highest turbine?

  • Hey I hope you can figure it out. its a shame it sounds like some good wind .let us know what happens with it.good luck.TAKE CARE

  • Bad stator coil just like you suspect. Bummer.
