Anyone who has put in the time and work to even come into approximation of the Olympic as a competitor may exalt in this piece of stirring music by Vangelis. When this song was popular I was training for fencing nationals, running one morning with this in my head, in spring, with the tree lined street in blossoms and feeling that I was floating. I am so glad that I had that time of connection to the ancient experience of the spirituality possible when physical perfection is nearest its zenith.
