I think this is such a beautiful song. I dont eat meat and I am a animal activist. I dont go around stoping people from eating meat, but I just try and let people understand a little bit about it. Weather you think eating it is right or wrong, its a fact that most animals are abused and treated so cruel before killed for our sake. It is very sad. And no matter whose side your on, its wrong and so disturbing.
This song is really an anthem for animal rights, so great. =]
Actually, apes eat meat too - so, ah, that's not a separating factor. Chimps' favorite food is a monkey that kinda looks like darth vader. True, human beings evolved eating meat, but that doesn't mean we still need it, especially not now - it's bad for our environment, and our karma. I think a lot of people don't put a lot of thought into what they eat, or where it comes from. Nom nom nom, that's all that matters.
my morality was not imposed on me by my parents or anyone for that matter. my morality is my own. i will eat meat if i damn well please. an animal has been killed, why let it go to waste? now im not some meat eating extremist but please won't all vegetarians stop preaching the same old bull crap. it does my head in. humans can live how they want. as it has been said, eating meat is a factor that seperates us from apes. so let it be! jesus!
My friend, I can give you evidence by looking at the animal kingdom. The lion has been a carnivore much longer than human kind, and yet it doesn't destroy the world by buring 70% of the rainforest to make land for slaughterhouses and grazing land.
I'd probably re-check that article you read. The author might have been slightly bias or... yeah, just a bit nuts.
I didn't say it was the most important factor, but meat fat is a great catalyst without which human brain wouldn't develope so rapidly and to such an extent. There were a lot of different factors which made our evolution roll this way. Inteligence made it possible for us to use fauna and flora to our purpose which made it possible to feed more people. I belive meat consumption is way too high in the developed world since a) it's not healthy b) too much grain is being used to feed livestock.
