Open Carry in Detroit Michigan - Illegal Detainment, Search & Seizure Part 2

Mr Szerdi just happened to be walking down a public street on the sidewalk past Comerica Park. He quickly realized two uniformed officers were ordering him to their car. After trying to educate the officers who do not know the law he finds himself detained ,searched and his personal items confiscated. In Michigan open carry is legal. There are no laws regarding ID's or licensing related to open carry of a firearm. The officers in the audio are completely confused as to what the laws are. They repeatedly try to justify what they're doing by going back and forth as to what the legalities are. You will soon see that even the supervisor doesn't understand the laws in regard to OPEN CARRY. Concealed Carry Pistol Free Zones are related to people who are concealed not open carry. They taught us in the academy to never expose articles that might suggest you are a cop when off duty. Never open carry as such is similar to advising your sweetie not to walk around the hood wearing a Rolex, holding a Fendi bag.

Wow. I'm impressed at how well he kept his cool and continued to treat the officers with respect as they trampled his rights due to their ignorance of the laws. I'm not impressed with how many times the officer used the word "frickin'".

At 4:45, the officer says that he is on the guys side for carrying a pistol... um.......... what? No your not. And then he says that he should have carried it concealed? So wait a minute here... It's ok to walk around concealed next to the stadium, but not openly? Doesn't the law state it the other way around? And your not in the stadium, so why does it even matter? The police just make up all the excuses they can! wow... just because they can't be wrong.

@ 2:24 he says that there are issues with you carrying concealed on the property of a major sporting event and that you must disclose whether or not you are carrying to an officer of the law. (you are obviously open carrying)

@4:45 he says, "i would carry concealed next time" (um... what?) they KNOW you were open carrying.
