Severe Thunderstorms in Washington DC (8-12-10)

A storm rolled thru DC on 8-12-10. Lightening, heavy rain, and high winds. I fled to an underground parking garage and watched the show. The bulk of the storm lasted about 16 minutes, and created power outage throughout the metropolitan area. Damage in the millions.

Looks like you guys got nailed in this storm! Bet it brought the morning rush hour to a halt. Were there many reports of damage around the city?

@lovemytrains The storm caused a bunch of damage. A lot of trees falling into houses, and such. Still a lot of blue tarps on roofs in and around the city.

Bad storms for sure its almost like storms in Florida.

One hell of a storm. There are videos of the same storm system from other parts of the D.C.  None as bad as this one.
