The Deep Ocean Stirling Engine pictured is optimized for use as an OTEC platform that is free floating or build upon abandoned oil rigs.

Displacer and power pistons used by traditional Stirling Engines have been eliminated and replaced with a single liquid piston.

This design utilizes 2 or more Stirling Engines units together to remove efficiency losses that would have occurred by transferring the working liquid hundreds of vertical meters between the hot and cold sides. In a group setup, the liquid piston fluid flows less than 10 meters and stays within the top side or bottom side piston grouping.

Faster cycle times are realized by generating a spray using liquid from the piston system at specific times to more rapidly heat or cool the working gas, resulting in a net increase in energy density of the entire system.

Finally, energy is extracted from the movement of the liquid pistons by use of high efficiency turbines & generators contained with the black boxes.
