As the US marked the birthday of slain civil rights leader the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday -- some veterans of the civil rights movements were also joining forces with the Occupy Wall Street movement in DC in front of Washington headquarters of the Federal Reserve. On Tuesday, they gathered again in front of Capitol Hill to raise their voice against the economic inequality in USA.
Occupy Wall Street is a protest movement which began Sep, 2011 in New York. The protests are against social and economic inequality in the US between the wealthiest 1% and the rest of the population. The protests in New York City have sparked similar Occupy protests and movements not only in the US but around the world.
Madeeha Anwar was there at the Capitol Hill to cover the event and has spoken to few of the protesters. More details in the news package.
