Some old and hasty exterior shots of the infamous and beautiful Uvdal Stave Church. The church is situated at Uvdal in Nore and Uvdal municipality, which is in the valley Numedal in Norway. The stave church was originally constructed just after the year 1168, which we know through dendrochronological dating of the pine tree used during the construction. The logs were not completely dry when the construction took place.

Nice exterior shots :) The church was used as the parish church from it was being built in the 1160's or 70's until the new church was buildt in 1893. Got its present form in the 18th century. Roofs and exterior improved in 1903-04, then archeological excavation and extensive repairs underneath the wooden floor 1978. New wooden shingles. Roofs and walls painted with pine three tar every 4th- 5th year. Visited by thousands every summer from beginning of June till end of August. Miss it :)
